     Harold Outhwaite was a grinder, fettler in various engineering works in Darlington as well as a bread deliveryman, chimney sweep, painter and decorator and blast man in a quarry. He was born on 4 October 1923 at 28 Sheraton Street, Darlington, Co Durham. He was the son of Bertie Outhwaite and Esther Terry. Harold Outhwaite was brought up by his grandmother, Annie Outhwaite (née Turner) after his mother deserted him circa April 1924. He married Margaret Dawson, daughter of Herbert Dawson and Jane Cruddace, on 24 December 1949 at Easington, Co Durham. Harold Outhwaite died on 9 March 2001 at Memorial Hospital, Darlington, Co Durham, at age 77. Harold died of pulmonary embolism & liver cancer. He was cremated on 13 March 2001 at Darlington Crematorium, Darlington, Co Durham.

      Lilian Outhwaite was also known as Lily. Her married name was McArthur. She was born on 1 April 1892 at Darlington, Co Durham. She was the daughter of Thomas Outhwaite and Annie Turner.
